If one of your answers is positive, it´s time to get a grade of quality when working with volunteers.
In 2015 organisations can obtain the quality grade for free. Together, this project includes 80 organisations, ten per each region. Organisations fulfill self-assessment questionnaire and then an external evaluator/consultant after studying relevant documents grants organisation a grade of quality. Apart from this evaluation, an external consultant recommend what is needed to be done better in volunteer management.
Three-step procedure
1. Firstly, self-assess your organisation via questionnaire (available only in Slovak- to open the document you need to have the last version of Adobe Reader). Afterwards send it on standardy@dobrovolnickecentra.sk. You can find more more information about self-assessment in this manual (available only in Slovak).
2. The external consultant will then contact you and ask you for some additional materials and documents according to those you mention in the questionnaire.
3. After final evaluation of materials, the consultant grants you a quality grade and consult the way how to better manage volunteers in the organisation.
The whole process takes approximately 1-3 months, depending on the availability of all materials which prove your quality volunteer management.
Quality standards focus on these areas of work with volunteers:
- Volunteer management
- Legal and ethical frame
- Financial and material sources for volunteering
- Becoming a member of the team
- Work responsibilities and a profile of volunteers
- Process of recruitment of volunteers
- Preparation and training of volunteers
- Communication with volunteers and support of volunteers
- Evaluation and appreciation
- Registration, documentation and evaluation of volunteer programme
