Active participation at the SAFE Conference in Prague

Alžbeta Frimmerová spoked at the closing conference of the Czech Council for children and youth (ČRDM)  named SAFE on 18th June in the European House in Prague.

The Conference dealt with a way how to evaluate work of volunteers and to promote volunteering in general. Mrs. Frimmerová , representing the CEV, talked about an evaluation system of voluntary work established by the International Labour Organisation (ILO).

People from NGOs, from non-profit organisations at national and local level and many other professionals participated at the conference.

Platform at the Festival of Career (Festival Kariery)

At the Festival of Career Alžbeta Mračková (Frimmerová) talked about a way "How to employ voluntary experience as a working experience" in Stara Tržnica (Old Market) in Bratislava.

Voluntary experience is very useful to be mentioned in your CV. However, it must be well-placed and  well-named. Voluntary experience may distinguish you from other applicants for a job offer.

Conference EVEN in Madrid

Our colleague Jana Matejzelová participated at the conference ´Making things more EVEN´ organised by the CEV. Many international speakers enriched the program which focused mainly on trends in volunteering,especially in corporate and employee volunteering. A new professional tool "EVEN Workbook" was presented which aims to help companies in corporate volunteering. The CEV also presented its last study about employee volunteering. Platform at Profesia Days 2015

Platform for voluntary centers and organisation participated this year at a job fair Profesia Days 2015 as one of presenters in the Zone without limits. Website Profesia.sk granted us space to promote volunteering as a way how to get employed. Firstly, we agreed that a discussion with concrete real personal cases was the best way to persuade people that it is possible to find a job through volunteering. Our choise led us to Jana Matejzelová from Volunteer Center in Banská Bystrica and to Gabriela Podmaková from Bratislava Volunteer Center (BDC) .

During two days we presented various voluntary possibilities and spoke about potential advantages for a volunteer, such as V-skills (D-zručnosti) and DOBROkarta.  We were pleased by a number of people visiting our stand interested in a recent campaign of BDC or in voluntary possibilities in general.
