In 2015 we created and improved conditions for the support of volunteering - thanks to the support from the grant program Service administered by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport of the Slovak Republic. We have initiated the establishment and functioning of three new volunteer centers in regions where they were missing. In fall 2015, Volunteer Centers were founded in the regions of Trnava, Trenčín and Žilina. In addition to that, also the activities of the Volunteer Center of Košice Region were renewed. Since its beginning, the Platform initiated the establishment of four volunteer centers (Bratislava Volunteer Centre being the fourth one). Thanks to the project, we were able also to create a shared database of volunteer opportunities and potential volunteers from six different Slovak regions.
