We would like to invite you for an international training focused on young volunteers from vulnerable groups.

Date: March 10, 2016 (8.30 – 17.15)

Place: Bratislava, Magistrát hlavného mesta SR Bratislavy, Primaciálne nám.

Organizer: Platform of Volunteer Centres and Organizations

Goals and Methods: This international training is for people working in NGOs and public organizations who area already coordinating volunteers for at least one year and those who went through the accredited training in volunteer management provided by the Platform of Volunteer Centers and Organizations. Specifically, it is focused on the work with young volunteers (up to 30) from vulnerable groups (unemployed young people, people with disabilities, etc.). Participants will be provided with theoretical and practical knowledge, skills but also specific methods they can use in their work with volunteers. It will create a space for discussions, experiential learning, exchange of experience, and interactive group work.

This training is a part of the international project CIVCIL supported by the EU Program Erasmus+. It is implemented in the cooperation with Bratislava Volunteer Centre. Attendees need to register; however, there is no participation fee.

- Basic steps in volunteer management of young people from vulnerable groups

- Suitable volunteer opportunities for various vulnerable groups

- Benefits, challenges, and risks of volunteer management of people with disadvantages or disabilities

- Basic rules for communication with young people with disadvantages or disabilities

- Readiness of an organization to work with people with disadvantages or disabilities
